Cloud API Number Access Tutorial

1. Create an application

Open the Meta developer backend, https://developers.facebook.com/apps/create/. Select the “Business” type to create an application.

Business management platform account – select the bm number to be bound, an application can be bound to a bm number, and the WABA account and number under the bm number will be synchronized to the SaleSmartly background for chat integration and management.

After the creation, under the application – control panel, select the whatsapp product, and click settings.

Note that the official restriction is that only FB developers registered with FB numbers registered with overseas numbers can see and use whatsapp cloud api products (restricted in China).

2. Obtain application information

In Settings-Basic, open the basic information of the previously created application to obtain the application ID, application key, and BM id.

Fill in the above application number, application key, and BM id into the “Appid”, “Secret” and “Bind BM number id” in the SaleSmartly background-application configuration respectively.

Open the FB business background, https://business.facebook.com/settings/. Under the bound BM, click System User – Add, select the “Administrator” identity, and click “Create System User”.

Click the system user you just added to open the user details panel and click “Add Asset”.

In the pop-up window below – Applications, check the previously created application in “Select Assets”, and enable the “Manage Applications” permission, and click “Save Changes”. Note that you must assign assets to system users-administrators, that is, corresponding cloud API applications.

At this point, click the “Generate New Password” button.

Select the application, check the previously created application, and click “Generate Password”.

Check three more permissions: business_management, whatsapp_business_messaging, whatsapp_business_management. After checking it, click “Generate Password” again

Copy the access password from the image below.

Paste and fill in the above access password into SaleSmartly Background – Application Configuration – Token.

When the “Appid”, “Secret”, “Token” and “Binding BM Number ID” are all filled in, click Next to access; When the connection is successful, the numbers under the first 50 WABA will be automatically pulled, and the excess 50 parts will not be automatically pulled, you must manually click the sync number button, and you can use it normally after the synchronization is successful. Click Enable Corresponding Number to select the corresponding Cloud API number to import contacts, message broadcasts, and chats.

Finally, in the Meta developer background, https://developers.facebook.com/apps/create/, please be sure to switch the application you created earlier to the “online” status (remember to go online).

At this point, the Cloud API number access has been completed.

3. Additional instructions

If the Cloud API number is normally connected, you can skip the following steps:

SaleSmartly supports automatic webhook configuration, if the automatic configuration of webhook fails, you can use the following steps to try to manually configure the webhook.

①Copy the Webhook URL in the SaleSmartly background-application configuration and call back Secret.

②In the Meta developer background – WhatsApp – configuration, click “Edit”.

③Add “Webhook URL” to the callback URL, and fill in “Backfill Secret” in the verification password.

④Also, remember to click on the webhooks field – Manage button in the image below:

⑤Open the Webhooks field subscription pop-up, be sure to click all the fields in the subscription pop-up, and then click Finish.
