How to configure Google Translate API Key

1. Log in to the Google Cloud application page

Open Chrome, open the Google website in guest mode, click Sign in in the upper right corner, and start logging in to your Google account.

If you have logged in to your Google account, you can jump directly to the Google Cloud application page: cloud.google.com, select the website language Chinese-Simplified, and then click the blue button to start using it for free.

2. Apply for Google Cloud

(1) Fill in the account information. First fill in the country/region, here it is recommended to select the node IP location, for example, if you are using a UK proxy, the country will select the UK, and the US proxy used, the country/region will select the United States. Once you’ve selected a country, select the option that best matches your organization or needs. If you choose the company category, you can also get an additional $100 free trial (stacked on top of $300), but this step requires entering a business email.

(2) Authentication and contact information, enter your phone number for post-authentication contact information. Google will send a text message with a 6-digit verification code to verify your identity and confirm your contact details in order to provide you with solutions that improve your Cloud experience. You will be charged at the standard rate. At the flag icon in front of the phone number, click the down arrow to pull down, select China +86, and fill in your domestic mobile phone number in the phone number. Once you receive the verification code, fill it out to continue to the next step.

(3) Fill in the payment information verification. This step is the key to signing up for Google Cloud, which requires verification of credit card information and selection of account type individual.

Once you’ve selected your account type, you’ll need to fill in your payment method, which is to add a credit or debit card. Enter the prepared credit card number, expiration date, and CVV 3-digit security code. If you have a PayPal, you can also add PayPal (note: Google Cloud does not seem to support domestic PayPal). Write the billing address and zip code of a registered region in the address bar. (This address will only be mailed if a paper bill is required after the actual expense has been incurred.) The billing address can be found on Google Maps or obtained in random address generation online. Tax information is not required, click Start Free Trial.

After clicking Start Free Trial, you will receive an SMS or transaction reminder from the banking app. Google will charge the credit card $1 and then return it immediately, at this time, Google Cloud Google Cloud has successfully applied! Note: The first time you use a credit card for a US dollar transaction, the bank’s credit card center will have a risk control call to ask if the transaction is operated by yourself, as long as the answer is yes.

Your free trial comes with a $300 bonus that can be used over the next 90 days. Now you are logged in to the operating platform interface of Google Cloud. Before logging in, Google Cloud needs to do a small survey and answer 4 questions, of course, you can also choose to close. When you’re done answering the questions, click Done. Google will then recommend a solution based on your interests to host your website through Google Cloud.

You can try the solution or click Skip for now. At this point, the Google Cloud application has been completed, with a $300 bonus and a 90-day trial.

3. Apply to activate the Google Translate API

(1) Click Select Project to create a new Translate API project and create the project. Then click Continue.

(2) After clicking Continue, you will see the following screen, after entering your project name, click Create:

(3) After the creation is successful, enter the page of the project.

(4) Visit the Google Translate API page and click “Enable”, that is, enable the Google Translate API under the project created earlier.

(5) After enabling the Cloud Translation API, go to the API Management page, click “Credentials” – “Create Credential” on the left, and select the API key, as shown in the following figure:

(6) When you see the pop-up window below, that is, the API key of Google Cloud Translate has been successfully created, copy this API key.

4. How to configure the Google Translate API in SaleSmartly

Log in to the SalesSmartly backend, click on [App Store] - [Google Translate], install the application, and enter the API key you just copied in the API key input box. After completion, click Save and the system will connect to Google Translate without deducting the number of translation characters.
