1. Enable two-step verification

a. Enter Google Mail Settings and click Jump

b. Go to [ Forwarding and POP/IMAP] - Enable IMAP

c. Click the Logo in the upper right corner - Manage your Google account.

d. Return to manage your Google account .

e. Click to enter [ Two-step Verification ] - click to start .

f. Click Continue .

g. Click Enable .

h. A prompt will pop up when you successfully enable [ Two-step Verification ].

2. Generate an application-specific password

a. On the [ Two-Step Verification ] page, scroll down to the bottom and find [ App-specific passwords ], then click the arrow.

b. Enter the application name, you can enter any name, and click Create .

Notice:

Create an app to use the password Google only displays once! Please save it or download it and save it. If you close it, it will not be displayed again!

3. Use application-specific passwords

a. Copy the app-specific password .

b. Go back to [ Integration-Email ] - Add email - Copy the application-specific password just now.

4. Fill in the application-specific password

When using IMAP to integrate your mailbox, be sure to fill in the actual IMAP server address and port instead of the following sample information

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I find my app password?

a. If two-step verification is not enabled, please [click to jump] to the detailed tutorial on how to enable two-step verification here or [click the link] to enable it. You need to log in to your Google account.

b. Open the portal: https://myaccount.google.com/u/6/apppasswords?gar=1

  • Enter the name of the application-specific password. There is no requirement for the name. Click "Create" to generate an application-specific password ( please make sure that two-step verification is enabled ).

c. Search for [App-specific passwords] in your Google account

d. If you have set up two-step verification and still can't find the option to add an app-specific password, the reason may be:

•Your Google account is [set to use only security key] for two-step verification. You can try to change the passcode. The path is [Google Account] - [Security] - [Passkey and security key] - [Create passkey]

•You are logged in with a work, school, or other organizational account.

•Your Google account has been enrolled in the Advanced Protection Program .

Tip: You typically enter an app password once for each app or device.
