2. Step-by-Step Guide

2.1. Log in to Baidu Translate Open Platform

Log in to Baidu Translate Open Platform, Baidu Translate Open Platform (baidu.com)

If you have not registered a Baidu account, you can register one yourself and it will be omitted here.

After logging in, click Management Console to access the management console.

2.2. Register as a Baidu Translate developer

Log in with your Baidu account (or register if you don’t have one).

You can choose individual or enterprise. Enterprise has faster QPS (number of words translated per second)

Here we take individual developers as an example. Fill in your personal information as prompted and click Next.

If there is no response when you click Next, you can try again to click Get Verification Code. If it shows "This phone number has been registered", it means you have created it successfully. Just return to Baidu Open Platform and click the Management Console again. 

2.3. Enable translation service

If you are a first-time developer, you need to activate the translation service to realize the translation function.

In the management console, under My Services, find Translation Service and click Activate Now.

You can select the translation service you need to enable. General text translation must be enabled.

Select the service version you need. Both versions are available. Here we take the standard version as an example.

After selecting the version, fill in the application name > click Submit Application to activate the service.

2.4. Get the APP ID and API key

After successfully entering the management console, click Developer Information to obtain your APP ID and API key.

After obtaining the APP ID and API key, you can go to the app store and select Baidu Translate to install it.

Frequently asked questions

1. Why does it still show translation failure after installation?

There are several possibilities, the most common ones are:

①If the translation service is not activated, you can go back to step 3 to activate the translation service and start the service.

②If the translation services you have enabled do not include general text translation, you can go to the Overview and click Enable Translation Other Services to check whether the general text translation service is enabled. If not, select the general text translation service, click Next, enter your company name, and click Submit Application.

③Baidu Translate is not selected in Chat Settings - Translation Settings.

If you have already installed Baidu Translate, you can select it in Setup—Project Management—Chat Tool Settings.

④The translation content of your Baidu Translate version has been exhausted. You need to check whether the translation balance of Baidu Translate is sufficient.
